Our Aim Is:-

To enhance the development and to access the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum for each child aged 2 – 5 years, in a parent involved group.

To provide a safe and stimulating environment.

To work within the EYFS framework which ensures equal opportunities for all children.

We Offer Your Child:-

A child initiated curriculum which accesses the EYFS regulated by Ofsted. Individual care and attention made possible by good relationships between staff, children and parents/carers.

The chance to experience being in a school environment, seeing different children, staff and visitors.

The support of a personal key worker – parents are encouraged to approach any keyworker or any member of staff to discuss their children.

Physical Development

Improves skills of co-ordination, control, manipulation and movement.

Children will learn how their bodies work and how to enjoy an active, safe and healthy life.

Decision Making Little Dolphins’ group is run by an elected committee made up of parents, this ensures that any decision making is in the hands of parents that use the group. The committee is responsible for both reviewing policies, practice and the employment of all staff

If your child is going to be absent from Pre-School please telephone us and let us know. If your child is booked in on a certain day each week you will be charged if your child does not attend on that day.

In order for your child to fee comfortable and access all areas of the curriculum and to experiment with media and materials it is very important to send your child in old clothes only, some activities can be messy. The staff usually endeavour to provide overalls, aprons etc for such activities, but as with anything accidents will and do happen.

It is good practice for children to use independent skills such as going to the bathroom, simple clothing which they can manage will help them reach this goal e.g. elasticated trousers. Should there be any problems a member of staff is on hand to help.

If any accidents do occur in the bathroom or in the messy activities we do have a limited supply of clothes. If your child is sent home in any of these could you please wash and return them as soon as possible. Alternatively, you could provide your own spare clothes in a bag which can be left on their own coat peg. If your child wears nappies please provide a supply for them to use.

We provide your child with a snack – fruit, water, milk and a biscuit.

Sensible footwear must be worn during each session as we play both indoors and outdoors, also heels and open toed sandals are not ideal.

If you have any queries or concerns over any of the advice given please feel free to speak to staff.
